Our church is part of the national Parish Giving Scheme.  The scheme aims to help parishes like us best manage regular donations.

How does it work?

Donations can be made on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis by Direct Debit using a PGS gift form. Even though the donations are made to the PGS, donations are restricted to our parish and cannot be used elsewhere.

Your gift will be passed back to our Parish by 10th of the month. Gift Aid will be sent separately once PGS has received it from HMRC.

The unique feature of the scheme is the option for you to commit in principle to increase your gift annually in line with inflation. Whilst this is a voluntary decision, it is one that could potentially have a huge impact on the life and future of our church.

What are the main benefits?

The main beneficiary of this scheme will be our church.  Through your generous commitment we can be assured of a regular, tax-efficient source of income which has the capacity to increase with the cost of living, yet involves virtually no administration.  You will benefit from a system that is secure, confidential and easy to use, while supporting our church today and for the future.

How can I take part?

If you wish to donate to our parish through the scheme please click on this link, which will take you to the Upton Bishop page of the Parish Giving Scheme website, and follow the instructions:

Inflationary Increase

By opting in to increase your donation in line with inflation on an annual basis you will be helping your Parish to budget for the future. Retail Prices Index (RPI) will be used as in independent and well-known measure of inflation. You will be written to 30 days in advance of any increase with the revised amount. If you are unable to meet it simply let us know.

Change of Circumstances

Please notify the PGS immediately if you change your name, contact details, bank account details or no longer pay sufficient tax on your income and/or capital gains to qualify for Gift Aid, or you are now eligible to claim Gift Aid.

Gift Aid

If you become eligible to claim Gift Aid and have not signed the gift aid declaration on the gift form, please complete a Gift Aid declaration and email or post it to us.
