Upton Bishop has its own community orchard at Pomona Grove. This is a free facility for local people to use and enjoy. In the orchard there are 10 apple trees made up of 7 varieties, 2 plum trees (2 varieties), and an apricot. The grass between the trees is maintained as a wild flower meadow. Villagers are encouraged to get involved in maintaining the orchard, picking the fruit, maintaining the hedges, scything the grass, and just enjoying the space. A bench to commemorate the coronation of King Charles III was installed in 2023.

Apple Pressing
On the last sunny day in October we had an apple pressing at the Community Orchard to deal with the windfalls, of which there were plenty. It’s been a bumper crop.
